When electronic music
meets heritage

Cultural heritage
Placed under the patronage of the French National Commission for UNESCO, the Monumental Tour is a concept combining Electronic Music, Heritage and Digital Art created by the French DJ and producer Michael Canitrot.
The opportunity to make our heritage interact with the new technologies, to rediscover our monuments from a new angle with the sound of electronic music artists and huge scenographies mixing light-shows and video-mapping.
An experience that also intends to give meaning to the celebration by attracting new audiences to these places of history and raising their awareness of the importance of preserving our heritage for future generations through calls for donations, in collaboration with local institutions or associations. In 2022 the Monumental Tour and Michael Canitrot were rewarded by the Institut de France by receiving the Coup de Coeur 2021 prize from the Stéphane Bern Foundation for History & Heritage.

Imagined by the artist Michael Canitrot as a platform for artistic collaborations
Passionate about history, heritage and ambassador of the French electronic scene, the DJ-producer Michael Canitrot has imagined the Monumental Tour as a place of meeting and exchange, a field of experimentation between different artistic disciplines: music, singing, dance, digital art...
The man who saw his international career take off in 2010 with a memorable concert from the top of the Eiffel Tower - a sign of things to come - has always dreamed of making monuments dance. With his new concept, the Monumental Tour, he does it in the most beautiful way. Each act is a real artistic and human challenge, with the need to create custom-made works to dress the gray of the stone with colors and cement the immutable with the infinite rhythmic movement of electronic music.
On his way, Michael Canitrot still has many wonders of our heritage to animate with all the imagination that characterizes him and, as a red thread, the intimate ambition to register electronic music in the heritage of the most respected arts.
Unique performance
The latest performances of the Monumental Tour at the Palais-Royal as part of the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union, at the Château de Chantilly on France 2 to celebrate the New Year, or at the Château de Pierrefonds, at the Phare des Baleines on the Île de Ré, at the Château de Vincennes and at the Abbey of Mont-Saint-Michel, broadcasted simultaneously on the C8 channel for the European Heritage Days, were viewed by millions of people.
The project also gives pride of place to the new French electronic scene by inviting young talents to perform in these exceptional venues, thanks to springboards organized at the national level.
